Introducing… The 2012 ELC Lenten Program: “The Prodigal God”

The theme for the ELC 2012 Lenten season is “The Prodigal God“, based on the book by Timothy Keller. The Lenten Program will feature a Sermon Series for Saturday and Sunday worship and the first ever ELC “One Book, One Church, One Lord” Small Group Program on Wednesday Evenings

“The Prodigal God” Sermon Series will highlight a different chapter of the book each week. The key themes are “Setting Up the Prodigal Story”, “The Lost Younger Brother, aka The Prodigal Son”, “The Lost Elder Brother”, “The True Elder Brother” and the “Feast of the Father”.

On Wednesday evenings, ELC will host a Communal Lenten Supper followed by a Video Segment and Small Group discussion of one chapter of “The Prodigal God”. The Small Group discussions will be hosted by members of the Worship Team.

ELC has purchased copies of “The Prodigal God” for $10/book and we encourage everyone to consider purchasing the book and signing up for a Small Group. You can purchase the book from Pat at the Church House, in the Gathering Space during services or Online (details to come). Sign-up sheets will be posted in the Gathering Space. Each Small Group will consist of 6 to 8 people. Because Pastor’s sermon will cover the relevant chapter each week, everyone can participate in the Wednesday small groups, even if they have not had time to read the chapter.
