The heartbeat of Maundy Thursday is Jesus’ commandment to love one another. In washing his disciples’ feet, Jesus shows his example of what it means to humbly care for one another – especially those pushed to the margins – and to follow his example. At the Lord’s table, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice, offering ourselves in love for the life of the world, all while remembering the Passover feast set before us.
