This year, our stewardship emphasis is rooted in this statement of faith:
God provides abundantly and there is always enough to share. The scriptural basis of this focus on our stewardship of all that God has entrusted into our care is Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians, "And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
We remember the abundance and generosity that God has given to us, that we might share it with the poor and the hungry, the vulnerable and the marginalized. For many of us this year, our church communities have kept us grounded and supported in our faith through great uncertainty, anxiety, and a mindset of scarcity. God has provided for us in times of struggle so that we may approach God’s grace and receive Christ’s mercy.
It is clearer than ever that we need each other. The invitation to give to your church is an invitation to invest in community and it demonstrates our hope and our commitment to sharing God’s abundance, today and every day, so that all may have enough.
Because this is true, how might our combined generosity make even greater things possible through our congregation. How has the gift of God’s abundance impacted you and your life?
Commitment Sunday is October 19th this year. On that day, we will seek to meet the challenge before us by gathering up our pledges for 2026, blessing them, and then offering them to God in worship that day.
Last year, we asked households to consider a ½ of 1% increase in giving. Many of you responded generously—thank you! This year, we ask again—not out of routine, but because the needs of our congregation, our communities, and our world make our shared witness more urgent than ever.
Please prayerfully consider increasing your gift by ½ of 1% of your annual income and/or your best gift for your stewardship to Edgebrook Lutheran Church for the 2026 year.
Before then, we hope you will ask God to help you discern your pledge for the coming year. There is always enough to share because of God’s abundant provision, and so we are asking you to do two things.
1. To increase your giving to Edgebrook Lutheran by at least ½ of 1% of your annual household income, or your best gift for 2026.
2. To consider using an automatic funds transfer program for your giving if you are not familiar with this convenient opportunity.
We hope that you will join the community in this celebration and this opportunity to give in thanks for all that God has done for you and for us.
This fall, we will use mail, e-mail, and time in worship to share information with you. Please make a special effort to participate during this important time in our congregation’s life.
Thank you, and may a spirit of abundance be with you always.
In Christ,
The ELC Stewardship Team
